What is electronic visitor management? In most organizations today, visitors just scribble a name in a paper guest book. With EasyLobby, visitors electronically scan their ID (business card or driver’s license), and all relevant information about them is captured in a secure database file, including their photo and signature (optional), the name of the person being visited, the reason for the visit, and their entry and exit times. In twenty seconds or less, the person is professionally checked in and a high quality visitor badge is automatically printed.
Why switch to electronic visitor management? Paper guest books have been around forever. They are certainly cheap and easy to use. But the data collected is usually incomplete, often difficult to read, and impossible to analyze. And perhaps more importantly, confidential information about who has recently visited your facility is out in the open and readily available to anyone who wants to flip through the book’s pages.
These drawbacks may have been acceptable years ago, but post 9/11, tighter security is now a necessity. As part of the overall strategy to improve security, most experts are encouraging organizations to do a better job of keeping track of who is in their buildings and why.

EasyLobby SVM Software

Main badging application
EasyLobby’s SVM (Secure Visitor Management) software has
rapidly become the defacto standard in providing corporations,
government agencies, educational institutions, and healthcare
and property management customers with the most feature-
rich, yet easy-to-use visitor management capabilities.

SVM is installed on a Windows workstation or Kiosk, typically
in the lobby, along with any combination of desired hardware
peripherals, such as a license scanner, badge printer, camera,
signature capture pad, etc.

Administrator Software Console

EasyLobby Administrator is an enterprise-class, central
administration software console. The Administrator software
is installed on a Windows workstation (typically the security
manager’s computer), and provides all of the critical
functionality for managing your EasyLobby visitor
management system.

In general, Administrator provides the same feature set as
SVM, with the exception that you cannot create visitor records
or print visitor badges from Administrator.

eAdvance

Web-based Visitor Pre-Registration for Employees
Prior to access of premises, many organizations today require
that visitor registration be fulfilled by an employee. This policy
of pre-visitor registration not only enhances the security of the
facility, but also further streamlines the process of checking in
visitors and issuing badges. In a busy lobby, using visitor
registration can greatly reduce visitor check-in time and lobby
congestion.

eAdvance is a web-based application tightly integrated with
SVM which enables any authorized employee to complete
visitor registration over the internet or intranet. The employee
simply logs onto the eAdvance web server (which can be
located at your site or /hosted for you by EasyLobby), and fills
out a simple visitor registration information form. No
knowledge of how to use SVM is required, and no training of

SVM Satellite

Control and Monitor Entry & Exit at
Internal Locations and Checkpoints

SVM Satellite is used to control and monitor entry and exit at
one or more internal locations or “check points” for visitors
who have already been badged at an SVM workstation at the
main lobby, visitor center or guard gate.

Upon arrival at a Satellite station, the visitor badge is scanned
(via barcode), and the Satellite station will display the visitor’s
photo, name and Clearance level and immediately inform the
operator whether to allow the visitor entry into that area or
whether to deny entry. The Clearance level is assigned to
each visitor when they are badged by SVM. Satellite time
stamps the visitor’s entry and exit at that station via barcode
scan, proximity card, or magnetic stripe read.

Access Control Integration

EasyLobby SVM software is tightly integrated with over 35 of
the most popular Access Control systems. The integration
allows you to grant temporary card access (or barcode
access) to certain visitors or contractors directly from the SVM
visitor form at the time of check-in.

With this optional software component, you can either loan
the person a proximity card, or have our barcoded badge
open a turnstile or door, or activate an elevator.

Mobile Wireless Solutions

Because many of our customers have guard gates, guard
shacks, and loading docks where vehicles and visitors enter,
EasyLobby has developed a suite of Mobile Wireless
solutions to make it easier and more efficient to process

Visitor Management Kiosks and Self-Registration
EasyLobby SVM Software (Secure Visitor management)
includes a very robust and configurable “Kiosk” or self-
registration mode for those customers who wish to obtain a
door entry card in the event of an unattended lobby area or
who merely wish to register themselves to receive a door
entry card.

Our Kiosk mode offers a multitude of unique features and
benefits, including the ability to control the background bitmap
of every screen, built-in support for 7 different languages, the
ability to select which fields are displayed on screen and to
specify which, if any, are Required fields. We also provide
complete control over customizing the help text for each
screen (in 7 languages), the ability to enforce visitor pre-
registration for a door entry card (i.e., if you have not been
pre-registered in the EasyLobby database by an employee,

Intellicheck Mobilisa DCM License Reader (2D, magstripe)
EasyLobby was the first visitor management visitor
system company to fully integrate the easy scan use of
a driver’s license reader for automatically capturing
visitor information from a license. Today, about 90% of
all states encode the person’s name, address, license
number and expiration date on either the magstripe or
2D barcode on the back of the license. Within a year or
two, all states have said they will move to the 2D barcode
system. The Intellicheck license reader (data sheet) reads
the encoded information from the magstripe (via swipe) or
or 2D barcode (via laser) for an easy scan to automatically
populate the appropriate fields within the EasyLobby SVM
badge printing software.

ScanShell 1000a
The ScanShell 1000a (data sheet) is a combination Passport/
License/Card Scanner, which performs for an easy scan OCR
on passports, licenses or business cards and captures the
photo/image and data, and automatically fills in the SVM

SnapShell CSS Card Scanner
The SnapShell is an easy to use Driver License
/ ID Card isoftware badgemage scanning system, which uses
for an easy scan, Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to
ead the front of any license and capture the person’s data
and photo automatically. The OCR engine extracts the
appropriate information from the license and places that data
into the correct fields in the SVM visitor form.

ScanShell 800 USB Card Scanner
is a Combo License/Card scanning device which, for an
easy scan, connects directly to a USB port. It is a
compact and low-cost solution for scanning Driver’s
Licenses and Busniess Cards. It captures data and
photo, and fills in the SVM visitor form automatically.

 

 

CardScan Business Card Scanner
This easyscan device is a business card scanner (no
licenses). It is lower cost than the CSS devices mentioned
above. It uses OCR to scan all of the data on a typical
business card and automatically populates the relevant fields
in the SVM badge printing software visitor form.
DYMO 450 Turbo Thermal (Black & White) Printer
DYMO Corporation is a leading manufacturer of specialty ID
badge printers, software and supplies for printing labels, bar
codes, receipts, and identification badges.

The Dymo 400 Turbo is the most popular ID badge printer
choice for use with EasyLobby SVM software for those
customers for who have no preference for a print badge, and
for whom a black & white id badge print is sufficient. The
DYMO 400 Turbo does not require any ink; you just put rolls
of adhesive, non-adhesive, or self-expiring badge stock into it
and it prints in seconds.

Logitech QuickCam Orbit MP PTZ Web Camera
The Logitech QuickCam Orbit MP features motorized pan and
tilt for an easy scan, intelligent face tracking, plus a true 1.3
megapixel image sensor for high quality pictures and video,
even in low-light situations. QuickCam Orbit MP is USB 2.0
High Speed certified, and is also backward-compatible with
USB 1.1 enabled systems.
Topaz Signature Capture Pad
The most rugged tablet series, Topaz Systems’
SignatureGem tablets visitor systemutilize electromagnetic
technology, with an active pen, for an easy scan, to produce
reliable signature capture systems for long-term commercial
grade applications. EasyLobby has integrated the Topaz line
of signature capture devices for those of our customers that
require their visitors to read and acknowledge their agreement
to certain documents, such as a non-disclosure agreement,
rules and regulations document, etc. With EasyLobby SVM,
the visitor’s signature is recorded as part of the visitor record,
along with the name of the document that was read and
agreed to.

The larger 4×5 Topaz allows you to display up to three
screens of text and capture the visitor’s signature.

Metrologic Barcode Scanner
The Metrologic handheld barcode ID badge reader is easy to
use and can save time in a busy facility. Simply choose one
of the EasyLobby badge templates which prints a barcode on
the badge, and then scan the barcode when the visitor leaves
to quickly and automatically check the visitor out. This
barcode reader can also be used with multi-day badges for
contractors or consultants to check them in and out each day
they are onsite, without having to re-issue them a badge each
day.
M2SYS Biometric Fingerprint Reader
The latest easy scan fingerprint reader introduced by M2SYS,
the M2-M2SYSEasyScan is a revolutionary, ergonomic
fingerprint reader that ensures a consistent image quality,
even in high throughput environments. The ergonomic design
of this fingerprint scanner ensures that a high quality image
is captured with each easyscan. The hard, quartz-like sensor
surface assures that this fingerprint reader will stand the test
of time, even in high throughput settings.

The sensor of the M2-EasyScan fingerprint reader does not
have a membrane, and therefore will not degrade or erode
with frequent fingerprint scanning.

RFIdeas PCProx Card Reader
RF Ideas’ pcProx Reader is compatible with over 300 million
physical access PC Proxproximity cards. This easy scan reader
allows users to use their building access card for other forms
of identification and security throughout their workplace.
The plug-n-play reader comes with flash memory, allowing
the user to quickly configure the output to meet the user’s needs.

As a card enrollment or ID badge reader/tester, the USB model emulates
a keyboard and will keystroke the card’s ID and/or site code to the cursor’s
location on the screen. The reader can be configured to add keystrokes
before and after the card’s data.
